Let's Party Like It's 1999- Bar Opening in the Nexus [OPEN POST]
It had been a time coming but finally Balthazar's bar "The Angel's Retreat" was open for business having been stocked up fully with drinks of all shapes, sizes and colours. Standing at the bar area is the owner, wings out and clutching a glass of Lucifer's finest angel booze. Scotch to be precise but at angel strength. The certain bottles of gut rot were locked up within a drinks cabinet behind the bar with only Balthazar being able to open it. The stuff was lethal to non-immortals and not wanting to poison potential customers, safety had to be upheld.
[ooc: Just pick which part of the club your character will visit and Balthazar will respond to both.]
The Bar Area:
(Pictures of the bar can be found here.)
Feel free to mingle here with one another and indulge in conversation and order your drinks here. Balthazar will be on hand to deliver whatever your heart's desire so chooses. Whether it be the strongest drink to the less lethal non-alcoholic varieties. Along with drinks there are also bowls of snacks positioned along the length of the bar including; crisps, potato chips (tortillas and the like), pickles, peanuts and other aperitifs.
The Nightclub and dance floor:
(Picture of the dance floor can be found here.)
If you are tired of ordering drinks or chatting then have no fear. If you walk into the backroom of the bar you will find a night club area, complete with a dance floor and DJ in the corner offering up a wide range of music. He also takes requests, so feel free to ask. That, or Balthazar will arrange something for your tastes. There is also a pole with a woman, or man, binding himself around it, offering up quite the show for any eager enthusiasts. It depends on what time of day you frequent the club. If it's evening then the pole dancer will be here showing of their moves. The dance floor is open all day.

"I can agree that we do possess a good, clear voice. Perhaps, I was wrong to judge you so quickly. We are the same in looks but clearly we have our differences."
Loki sipped some of his drink and swallowed before answering. Would his counterpart remember the pain and anger following the invasion? Of course he would. How could he not? Just because he was further along the timeline did not mean he could wipe the emotions from his memory.
"Just shy of 2012. If it were not for this Nexus I would be rotting within a rather luxurious Asgardian prison cell by now."

If he's honest, that's probably the influence of his other alternate, the one that owns the Viper's Pit. That is a Loki that knows how to enjoy himself.
He sobers quickly at the time frame the other Loki tells him. Oh, he remembers, in excruciating detail, and it's enough to make him take a long gulp of his drink.
"Stay, then." He says. "It's possible your absence for a short while may even save Frigga's life."
...shit, he didn't mean to blurt that out. "If you breathe a word of what I've just said to any Thor, I will--"
(What? Make him long for something as sweet as pain? A voice whispers in his head. He squirms inwardly.)
"I will be beyond angry and I will not be responsible for what I might do," he finishes with a sigh. "So please, do not. I would prefer to be friends with you."

"I know not of what you speak. How can I tell Thor when I do not even know why our mother is involved in such matters. But, you have my word. If this deserves my silence then I will honour it."
Loki was no fool. He could see his counterpart was trying to warn him about something. Future events perhaps? It was never wise to play with time and timeline events. As for friendship? That had occurred to him now that he was finally meeting his counterpart for real.
"I would much like to be your friend too. You do not need to fear me opening my mouth like a fool."

And was he wrong? Not really. Whatever Loki may want to protest; that he had no intention of killing Odin, that the last thing he ever wanted was to see Frigga hurt...his intentions do not now, and have never, mattered. Not when people suffer at his hands.
The ferocity in his gaze dims a little when his counterpart agrees to keep silent on the matter, and he looks away with a shaky breath. "There was an attack by Dark Elves. Malekith and his minions. I was in a prison cell at the time."
"I did not recognize the extent of the attack, or what the target was. All I saw was a breakout in the cells around me, which was clearly intended to create confusion and chaos, and a single spy, riddled with curses. We looked at one another for a long moment...I think we both knew a monster when we saw it."
"I told him to take the stairs to the left, to get past the crush from where the Einherjar were battling the other criminals. I doubted he would be a match for Thor, anyway, let alone Thor and Odin together."
"I did not know he would find his way straight to Frigga's chambers." Tension sings in every line of him for a moment, throat working as if to force down a cry, or a scream.
But a moment later, he's mastered himself again. "It's my fault," he says. "Do not make my mistake."

"He---this--Malekith, he killed our mother?"
Loki felt his voice crack under strain, as he it was hard for him to speak of it just as it was hard for his counterpart to describe the battle. The invasion. Norns, could it be true? Was Frigga dead? No longer in being in his counterpart's world. His future self. Valhalla awaited all those who sought it's halls. Stunned into silence, all Loki could do was reach out.
Pulling the other man into a hug. This was something Loki never did. He even shunned Thor's advances until recently. It just stung like a blade thrust into his heart and twisted until there was no more flesh to render useless. The beating heart stilled until it withered and died.
"I'm sorry."
no subject
...granted, that's entirely personal.
Some of his tension eases further when he sees the flicker of shock and grief in his counterpart's face. He was volatile at this time in his life. He was uncertain what to expect from this Loki. Scornful words about sentiment would not have shocked him, though he knows they would have been lies. Even more than that, though, the next response leaves him stunned.
He never just hugs people. At this point, he's more physically demonstrative than at any time in his life before, but his touches are limited to lovers, children, Thor, and possibly very close friends. That, and his alternate should be well aware that letting his guard down around any Loki is a great way to get stabbed. But here they are.
And for some reason it feels...healing. There's a pause, a space of a few heartbeats, and then he reaches back and completes the embrace.
This other Loki, he could have blamed him. Certainly Loki blames himself. Instead, he's able to offer compassion. Every time he meets an alternate he gets along with, he feels he's dodged a bullet, and more often than not his life is a little richer for the experience.
"I will give you whatever tools I can to prevent the same from happening in your world," he promises. "Thank you."
