Why was their mother involved in this? His eyes showing a flash of confusion but also understanding. His counterpart seemed eager to keep this information under lock and key.

Loki was no fool. He could see his counterpart was trying to warn him about something. Future events perhaps? It was never wise to play with time and timeline events. As for friendship? That had occurred to him now that he was finally meeting his counterpart for real.
